So, for the second year in a row, I teamed up with a bunch of writers at Woodridge in Perth to whip up a book in just one day for the Kid's Cancer Foundation. The day starts off bright and early at 7:30 am for setup, then at 8 am we open the guidelines before brainstorming the story for an hour. Things move pretty fast, and we usually have our first drafts ready by midday, just in time for a tea break. We spend the afternoon working on second drafts and editing until lunchtime. After lunch, we do another round of reading, catching mistakes between chapters, fixing missing links, and filling in any story gaps. After more writing and finishing up draft 3, we do some final editing and get the pictures scanned and edited. By the time we wrap up and head home, it's already 8 pm. A very long day!
