About Me
Acknowledgement
I am writing, living, loving, and playing on Whadjak land. I'd like to acknowledge the Noongar people, who have been telling stories here for tens of thousands of years.
Background & More
My early memories of reading are of climbing our old grape trellis, nestling myself into the leaves and gorging myself on the grapes and words. What an idyllic childhood! It's a different world today and many children can't step out their back door to experience nature, instead finding it at a nearby park.

I first trained as a geologist, I loved the logic behind rocks and geology. This career allowed me to explore nature, as well as to balance family life. I'm now in a position to spend more time coming back to a skill and desire I had long buried away - writing.
My own children are all grown. I am now busy playing with my grandchildren, and they are inspiring me to revisit my story telling skills and actually put pen to paper and write the stories I used to tell my children (their parents). Although I love reading the classics to them, and the new books that fill their shelves, I am keen to show them Nana's world of imagination and nature.

My husband is a travelling nomad with his work so I'm often at home on my own with my dog, cat, ducks, and bantams all for company. I sing in a choir and perform at least 4 times a year at concerts. I also volunteer at a number of places, my local library; a pop-up Repair lab using my sewing skills; emptying a fishing bin for River Guardians; and listening to school children read. As well, I spend a day each caring for my grandson and granddaughter while their parents are working.
